Conference Description
The PICD Workshop, Politics, Institutions, Conflict & Development, brings together scholars working on political economy, comparative political systems, institutions, governance, conflict, and development.
The workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary discussion on the interaction between political institutions, economic outcomes, governance structures, conflict dynamics, and processes of political and institutional change. Particular emphasis is placed on research combining insights from economics, political science, public choice, and related social sciences.
We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions, as well as work in progress, from economists and other social scientists.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Political economy
- Public choice
- Institutions and development
- Conflict and political violence
- Authoritarian politics
- Democracy and governance
- Corruption and clientelism
- State capacity
- Applied macro political economy

There is no registration fee
The workshop will include lunch and workshop dinner for participants.
